Last weekend, I photographed a seriously fun and beautiful high school senior. We had so much fun together, and every time I look at these photos, I just feel so happy…because her generous, active, silly spirit shines out so clearly. How could a person not feel happy and hopeful with young people like this in the world? Kendra, enjoy your sneak-peek! Thanks for being so adventurous and joyful. I don’t know anyone else who jumped…fully clothed in a pool for their senior pics:) A girl after my own heart!
They brought her across the world and into their hearts and home only five months ago. Five months…yet it’s clear from the way this little girl reaches for her mom and dad with her confident, adorable little hands that, this 13-month old is 110% their child.
There is magic in this world. Magic in the ways that families come together across vast distances. Magic in a child’s smile. And I was definitely seeing some magic in this mom and dad’s eyes as they held their adorable little girl.
Thanks for giving me this opportunity to photograph your sweet little Miss F! Getting beautiful photos of her was easy as pie. Enjoy!
When I got the phone call from this lovely mama asking me to photograph her six month old twins, I was…well…overjoyed. Twins! And six months old! I love photographing babies:) And two of them at once got me all a-twitter.
These two little cuties were a delight to photograph. Little Mr. B looked right at me with his big, beautiful eyes whenever I said his name. And darling Miss M…I could eat up those soft chubby arms and legs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I feel like I have my hands full with two kids who are 2 1/2 years apart, and I was really impressed at the calm, peaceful feeling of their home. These baby twins have a lot of love in their lives. Happy half birthday, you two. I’ll bet the fun will only continue to grow over the next year!
Here’s a sneak peek of our fun session.
I love the connection between a parent’s hand and sweet baby skin. Too much! And look at Mom and Miss M. It’s clear that they have a happy, fun-filled relationship!
Here’s the whole family!
Dad with his little girl.
Our two little babes together. Thanks for inviting me into your home to capture some sweet images of your family! Hopefully next time the weather will be warmer and we can spend more time playing out-of-doors!
Hip hip hooray! It’s almost Father’s Day! As a special treat honoring grandpas and fathers and children, I’m offering a special Papa’s generational mini-session on Sunday, June 6.
There’s something so special about the way a father holds his child’s hand. There’s magic in the way children can look up at their dads with such trust and belief in their eyes. I’m offering this mini-session to give you the opportunity to capture some of those interactions for your family albums.
Whether it’s Dad with his kids or if Grandpa (and even Great-Grandpa!) join in, we’ll have a fun time playing and capturing some images that your kids are sure to treasure.
This “Papas generational mini-session” event will be held on Sunday, June 6 at Tenney Park starting at 5pm. Evening light is golden, and we’ll get to explore around the lagoon, wander across bridges, and soak in all the sights and sounds of a June evening at the park. Dads, grandpas, and their little ones can reserve a 15-20 minute photo session, which will include at least 10 edited images and a personal online viewing and purchasing gallery for $60. Prints and gifts will be available for purchase.
Moms, this would be a great Father’s Day gift for Dad and Grandpa (they’ll be thrilled to hear that it’s not a stiff studio session!). Grandparents can be so hard to shop for, and this would be a lovely way to create memories that can be bottled up and looked at years later. Make it a fun evening with a trip to the Chocolate Shoppe afterward!
For more information on available session times and to sign up, visit my website, email me at adotzour@gmail.com, or call 608.223.9539. I’d love to capture some sweet images of you and your kiddos!
We’ve had such a bizarre and wonderful spring! April was warm and flowery and really quite dreamy. And May, oh favorite month of May has shared some stunning days. Yet this last week, it’s been chilly. It snowed in parts of Wisconsin. And while they aren’t showing it in these pictures, the kids who came out for the MGNS Portrait Fundraiser had to work hard to stay warm in their cute spring duds. We jumped up and down and ran in circles to keep warm!
Thank you so much to all the families who came out! Together, we raised over $700 for the preschool! Happy Spring!
I absolutely love to photograph preschoolers. They’re so open and pure and brim-full of their own little selves. I love watching them explore and think. I love hearing their ridiculous knock-knock jokes. And as a photographer, I love how willing they often are to look right into my lens and share a bit of their souls with me.
Many of these kiddos will be heading off to Kindergarten next fall, so these images are capturing a bit of who they are on their last days of preschool. What an exciting time!
There were so many sessions on Saturday! More sneak peeks are yet to come.
Belatedly, a Happy Mother’s Day! Hope all you moms enjoyed your special day. I couldn’t get enough of Andrew and Sylvia jumping up and down yelling, “Happy MOTHER’S DAY!!” in their cute little four- and two- year-old voices.
Last Saturday, I held a really successful fundraiser for Monona Grove Nursery School. From 8:30 in the morning until 1pm, I had a steady stream of kids coming to play with me while I snapped pictures. The weather was chilly, but the light was beautiful, and I’m so happy with the images I was able to capture. This is the first in a series of sneak-peeks from that morning. Enjoy all the bright eyes and joyful spirits!
Those are some peeks at the first three mini-sessions of the day. More to come!
This mama has her hands full! She has three boys, and the older two are so comfortable and confident in their “boy-ness.” The arboretum was a great place for our photo session since we had lots of trees to climb, benches to leap from, and exploring and running to do. Their tiny baby brother is wonderfully adored. And their mama, well, boys, your mom is one cool customer.
I know that I often feel overwhelmed with my two little ones, but Nikki quietly, lovingly, firmly handles three. You boys are lucky to have such a great mom. And Nikki, your heart must fill up with a house full of the smiles of those boys. Exuberance, enthusiasm, joy!
Thanks for coming out to the arboretum for this session! It was a lot of fun. Hope you have a happy (relaxing??) Mother’s Day!
