Cost
An individual or family portrait session (up to four people) costs $150. Add $25 for each additional participant. The session fee is payable the day of your photo session. Payment can be made by cash or check (made out to Althea Dotzour).
What’s included in the session fee?
- Pre-photo session consultation. We can talk about what you are hoping to get out of your photo session. During this conversation, I get to know a little about you and your family, and we can nail down logistics for the day of the session.
- My undivided attention. My natural light photography sessions last one to two hours (with longer sessions provided for newborns). The time will fly by, and we’ll all have a blast.
- Digital processing of the images. This precision work often takes three to four times the length of the photography session. I enhance, color correct, and do light Photoshop retouching of select images. In general children need little editing (I have a soft-spot for skinned knees), and I give adults the gentle retouching that I would want in an image of myself. If you are interested in more extensive Photoshop edits, please let me know. Black and white or sepia images can be created.
- Online viewing of image proofs. Two-three weeks after the session, your proofs will be available to view online. The gallery and cart are live for four days and you will be contacted before they are made live so that you may select four consecutive days that work well for your schedule. During these four days you will make your portrait selection and place your order.
- Ordering appointment. As you sort through images and endeavor to decide what size prints to make for yourself or others, I’m happy to meet with you (in your home if you’d like) to help you find the right combination of products to meet your needs.
